The Jim Henson Company acquired the A&M Studio from Universal in November 1999. This studio lot was designated a historical monument in 1969 because of its connection to Charlie Chaplin, who built the original structures in 1917. Alchemy D+A (LoringCruz) was contracted to be the single point of accountability for the renovation of the extents of the property. The 110,000 square foot Jim Henson Company Lot consists of twelve buildings which include; a screening room, sound stage, catering facilities, production offices, and recording studios.
